- Zinc has a melting point of 419.5C. Zinc itself is not very strong or hard, but adding alloying elements such as aluminum and copper gives it strength and hardness. Its calculated atomic radius is 135 (142) pm, and its covalent radius is 131 pm.
- Machinability: High-purity zinc rods are easy to machine at room temperature and can be processed and manufactured to achieve the desired shape and size.
